Have you ever wondered what it was like to be a soldier ‘on the other side of the fence’ during WW2?
As one of the UK’s friendliest and most approachable re-enactment groups, we’ll help you gain an understanding of exactly that by discussing the combat history, the uniforms, equipment, vehicles and personalities that made up one of Germany’s elite army units that fought on the Western Front during the period 1944-45. In defeat the soldiers of this division could honestly hold their heads high as they had kept their ‘shield of honour’ untainted by war crimes and were known as tough yet honourable opponents by the Allied soldiers who fought against them!
From 2009 the group will be displaying as the men of one of the integral units of the Division, the combat engineers of Panzer Pioneer Battalion 675 – these men were often the first into combat in attack and the last to leave during defence and had the deserved reputation amongst their peers of being the ‘best of the best!’
